Stick Curtain Wall System
كرتن وول ستيك
A stick curtain wall system is a non-loadbearing exterior façade assembled on-site using aluminium mullions, transoms, and glass. Saudi Aluminium Works provides stick curtain wall contracting services, including project coordination, material sourcing, and on-site installation across Saudi Arabia.
Why choose us
Stick System Glazing Options
Captured glazing
a pressure plate clamps the glass from outside, and an aluminium cap cover hides the fixings. This gives visible horizontal and vertical lines. It’s the most robust and economical option.
Structural silicone
(2-sided or 4-sided)
the glass is bonded to the frame, giving a flush exterior with thin or no visible caps. It’s used where the design calls for an all-glass look.
Internally glazed with
glazing bead
the glass is installed and replaced from inside the building using a snap-in glazing bead. This suits podium levels, where outside access is difficult.
How a Mullion-Transom Curtain Wall Is Built
A mullion-transom curtain wall goes up in four stages:
- Anchor brackets are fixed to the slab edge and adjusted to line and level.
- Vertical mullions are fixed to the anchors, usually spanning one floor and joined with expansion sleeves.
- Horizontal transoms are fixed between the mullions to form the grid.
- Glass and spandrel panels are set on setting blocks and sealed with gaskets.
Where Stick Curtain Walls Work Best
Low-rise curtain walls

Our low-rise curtain wall systems are designed for buildings up to 14 floors, including offices, schools, clinics, and showrooms.
Podium facades

Our podium façade systems are designed for the lower levels of high-rise buildings, where retail frontages, main entrances, canopies, and public spaces come together.
Shopfronts

Our shopfront systems are designed for shopping malls, retail stores, and street-level commercial spaces, combining expansive glass panels with sleek aluminium framing and modern entrance doors.
Complex geometry

Our complex geometry façade solutions are designed for buildings featuring curved, faceted, angled, or sloped architectural designs, where each panel may require unique dimensions and precise alignment
Custom span curtain walls

Our custom span curtain wall systems are designed for buildings requiring wider openings, larger glass panels, and tailored aluminium framing

Stick or Unitized?
Choose a stick system for low- to mid-rise buildings, podiums, shopfronts and irregular shapes, or where budget matters more than installation speed. For towers and tight programmes, a unitized system is usually the better choice.
Design and Wind Load
Our engineers size every mullion for the project’s wind load to SBC 301, accounting for building height, exposure and span. Systems are tested to ASTM E330 on our in-house rig, and for air and water tightness to ASTM E283 and ASTM E331. Each project comes with structural calculations and shop drawings for consultant approval.
The Benefits
Advantages of Stick Built Curtain Walls
- Lower material and transport cost: components are smaller and simpler than pre-assembled units, so they cost less to produce and ship.
- Design flexibility: grid sizes, profile depths and finishes can change from elevation to elevation.
- Shorter lead time: standard profiles come from our own extrusion line in Al Khobar, so production can start as soon as drawings are approved.
- Easy access for repairs: individual glass units can be replaced without removing the frame around them.
