Fire Rated Glazing System
زجاج مقاوم للحريق

A fire-rated glazing system combines fire-resistant glass, framing, seals, and hardware to help prevent fire and smoke from spreading while maintaining natural light and visibility. Saudi Aluminium Works provides fire-rated glazing solutions, including partitions, doors, and curtain walls for projects across Saudi Arabia.

How EI Fire Glass Works

EI fire glass is made of several glass panes bonded with a clear intumescent interlayer. In a fire, the interlayers facing the heat expand into a thick, opaque insulating foam that blocks heat transfer while the other panes hold the barrier in place. More interlayers give longer ratings:

Why choose us

Tested as a Complete System

EN 1364

fire resistance of non-loadbearing elements. Part 1 covers partitions, and Parts 3 and 4 cover curtain walls.

EN 1634

fire resistance of doors and opening windows. Part 1 covers fire, and Part 3 covers smoke control.

EN 13501-1

reaction to fire classification of construction products. It defines Euroclass ratings such as A2-s1,d0 for non-combustible materials.

Fire Rated Products

(01)

Fire Rated Partitions

Glazed internal walls that create fire compartmentation while keeping corridors, lobbies and offices light and open. Fire rated partitions are used in Saudi hospitals, schools, offices, malls and hotels to separate escape routes and fire zones.

(02)

Fire Rated Aluminium Doors

Our fire-rated aluminium doors are available in single and double configurations with full or partial glazing, tested to EN 1634-1. Certified hardware includes fire-rated hinges, closers, emergency exit devices, alarm-linked hold-open systems, and intumescent seals for enhanced fire safety.

(03)

Smoke Control Doors

Doors tested to EN 1634-3 for smoke control. They limit smoke leakage into stairwells, lobbies and escape corridors, where smoke is often the greater danger to people.

(04)

Fire Resistant Curtain Wall

Fire resistant curtain wall systems for facades near site boundaries, between buildings, and at floor slab edges where the fire code limits unprotected openings. Tested to EN 1364-3 and EN 1364-4, they integrate with our standard curtain wall appearance.

Saudi Civil Defense and SBC 801 Compliance

We provide fire safety documentation for Saudi projects, including accredited test reports, EN 13501-2 classifications, applicable SASO certificates, Civil Defense approvals, and installation guidelines. Our engineers coordinate with fire consultants to ensure compliance with project requirements and SBC 801.

Where Fire Rated Glazing Is Required

  • Schools and universities: escape routes and stair enclosures
  • Hotels and Hajj and Umrah accommodation: lobbies, corridors and atriums
  • Malls and airports: shop fronts onto fire-protected malls
  • Offices and towers: lift lobbies, stair cores and boundary facades
  • Industrial and data centres: control rooms and fire zones
