A high rise building facade has to perform where conditions are toughest: strong winds at height, constant sun exposure and continuous building movement. Engineered for Height
Wind load
pressures increase with height and peak at corners. Each tower glazing system is designed to SBC 301 wind loads, using wind tunnel data where available, and tested to ASTM E330.
Inter-storey drift
towers sway and floors move relative to each other. Unitized stack joints and split mullions absorb inter-storey drift without stressing the glass.
Stack effect
Stack effect in tall air-conditioned buildings, pressure differences push air through gaps in the facade. Airtight unitized joints reduce leakage and energy loss.
